Meet our Bracken Edge Parliament!
We are very proud of our pupil elected parliament at Bracken Edge, they represent our school community and take pride in their role! BEPS Parliament is made up of elected student representatives from year five and six with class MPs across years two to five. These pupils meet to discuss ideas, raise suggestions and propose improvements that matter to the wider school community.
Our Prime Minister and two deputy Prime Ministers!
Our democratic process
Pupils complete an application form and write an election speech and campaign. After presenting their ideas, school votes to elect the representatives. We also have a variety of representatives who apply for a position that they are passionate about and then have an interview for the role. These include Cabinet Minsters for:
- Inclusion and Diversity
- Core Curriculum
- Animal Welfare
- Environment
- Fitness and Wellbeing
Health
Members of the parliament learn about democracy, leadership, and teamwork while helping ensure that student voices are heard in school decision-making.
BEPS Parliament are fundamental in organising events such as sports day, Mental Health Awareness week and also lead parent tours during parents evenings and open evenings. We are proud of our student leaders who help make our school a place where everyone’s voice matters!
